Haircut when Lag Ba’Omer is Sunday
Question:
I need to travel to Crown Heights for Shabbos and Lag B’Omer, staying over until Sunday night. My hair got very long since Pesach, even though I did get a haircut the week before Pesach.
Am I permitted to take a haircut this Friday in honor of Shabbos especially since I won’t be home to get a haircut on Motzoei Shabbos or Sunday Lag B’Omer before sundown? This will cause me to have to wait all the way until erev Shavuos, and it will not look appropriate or mentchlach.

Answer:
Ideally you should do it Sunday, at a barber or someone else. If necessary, you may also Motzei Shabbos.
Though according to halacha one may in such a case take haircut on Friday, according to Kaballah one shouldn’t take a haircut in sefirah, independent of reasons of aveilus. Of course, if impossible otherwise, one may be lenient.
