May I read for someone Megillah while listening with headphones (in one ear) to a recording of the Kriah?

 

This is permitted, though it is obviously better to learn the Megillah ahead of time to properly fulfill the Mitzvah.

Also, while doing so, one must take caution that:

1. the volume of the recording be low enough that he himself can hear the words he is pronouncing. And,
2. that he is reading every single word from inside the Megillah and not to by heart.
