I have Smicha for shchitah and I go practice at a non-kosher market. Chickens will be used for treif only. Do I make a bracha before shechting? 

 

If the chickens will be kosher to eat (in other words, the knives will be checked, and they will be checked for treifos, or they could be checked because there’s someone there that knows to check them), and it is technically possible for you to change your mind afterwards and eat them, you should make a brachah, even if you’re initially shechting for goyim.
