Providing Services to Businesses Related to Avoda Zarah

 

Question:

Our business is registration of charities in Canada. Many of our clients’ churches are Avodah Zara (Hindus, Buddhists). Is there an issue with taking them on as clients? (sechar, hana’ah from avoda zara, abizraihu, lifnei iver, etc.)

Note that we are not the only firm in the country that does this work; there are other firms that could assist them (negating lifnei iver).

Note that the only benefit of becoming a charity in Canada is that the registrant could issue tax receipts to donors (to reduce their taxes) – but they could operate as a church without the charity status. I would also note that they pay us prior to the registration (they pay upfront), though we provide a guarantee of registration. Would that make a difference?
