How are we supposed to take the cholent pot off the blech, serve on plates, and return the pot to the blech with the leftovers?

I know that we have to hold the pot halfway in the air when putting it down to serve if I want to return it on the blech; however, what do I do with the cover? Can I lay it somewhere, or should it not be put down?

 

Answer:

Ideally, the pot cover should either be held or put back down onto the hotplate. If it was put down somewhere else, you still may put it back.

One, however, must make sure that it is dry when putting it back on, unless the droplets are still warm.
