Is there an Inyan to say דער בעל שם טוב האט געזאגט when driving past/seeing water?

 

Question:

Is it only a specific body of water? What would be the geder? Or is it really only a water-carrier?

And what exactly should be said?

 

Answer:

Yes, there is an Inyan, as stated clearly in the Hayom Yom of 21 Teves.

This applies not only when seeing a water-carrier, rather any body of water, or any water, chanced upon (i.e., when not expecting).

What should be said: “The Baal Shem Tov says that water is a Siman Bracha”, as per the Hayom Yom Ibid.

    You wrote the nusach that should be said is that the Baal Shem Tov said it’s a siman brocha,

    but the loshon is Baal Shem not Baal Shem Tov

    and people are arguing that the kavana is not the Baal Shem Tov but a previous Baal Shem.
    However, it’s obviously referring to the Baal Shem Tov and not a previous Baal Shem.

    A) lehoir from the sicha of ליל א׳ דחה״ס תשמ״ג quoted (also, ushpizin of the בעש״ט)

    B) also from the reshima quoted, there the loshon is actually בעל שם both times
