Which grandmother to name after?

 

Question:

I’m not sure if there’s a halachic answer to my dilemma, but I’m wondering if you can help me.

With this baby, we would like to name after my side.

Both of my grandmothers are deceased.

Paternal GM passed away about 4 years ago. 5 named after her so far. Maternal GM passed away about 1 year ago. 2 named after her so far.

As a child I was much closer with Paternal GM, and I recall her asking me at around age 8 to promise her that I’d name my child after her.

Please let me know if there’s any preference which name to give.

Absent any kibbud av v’aim considerations from your parents, your paternal grandmother take preference.
