Kissing a Child in Shul to Calm Them
Question:
If a child falls down in a Shul and starts crying, and kissing them is how they are comforted, is that allowed?
In other words, is it considered showing “love” if it is to calm them down from crying?
Answer:
It should not be done, unless he is crying loudly and disturbing the kavanah of the mispalellim and this is the quickest way to calm him (rather than going outside).
