My son’s Bar Mitzva is on Chanukah. Does he say Shehechiyanu when lighting the menorah for the first time as a Bar Mitzvah?

 

No. However, it would be best for him to make the Shehechiyanu that he will be making on a new fruit (as per the Rebbe’s birthday directives) right after lighting.

P.S. There’s no need for him to wait until Tzeis Hakochavim to light on the night of his Bar Mitzvah.
