If I have Mukztah in my coat pockets that I can not take out by shaking it, the only way I can take it out is by putting my hands in it, how can I remove it?

 

 Also can I move this coat from one room to another if there is something inside the pocket other than Muktza, like keys?

 

Answer:

If you did not have intention specifically that the coins should be there on Shabbos, or if you have a non Muktzah object that has more importance than the Muktzah object, you may shake out the pocket and the coat may be worn.

It is however prohibited to use your hand directly. You can also try to remove it with the back of your hand.

If one does not want to shake out the Muktzah object in the place where he happens to be when he discovers it, either because he needs the place where the Muktzah would fall, or it can do damage to the non Muktzah object (in your example – to the keys), then he may take the garments elsewhere and shake it out there.

Regarding moving the coat from one room to another: It depends how the pocket is sewn to the coat. If the pocket is a patch-pocket (similar to a men’s shirt pocket), then it is prohibited, even though there are also keys in the pocket.
If however the pocket is of a type which is sewn around its opening to attach it to the garment and it is self contained in a way that the garment itself does not constitute one of its walls (similar to a men’s pants pocket), then you may move the coat from room to room even if there are no keys.
