Is one allowed to wear a mask outdoors on Shabbos?

 

One may walk outside on Shabbos with a mask if it is worn properly that it won’t fall off.

Is there any Halachic issue with wearing a scarf outside on Shabbos in a way that it covers the mouth and nose, if this isn’t the normal way of wearing it? And is this in any way preferable over wearing a surgical 3-ply face mask outside on Shabbos? Thank you
