Can one Daven opposite a bathroom door?

 

Question:

I’ve noticed in some seforim that it’s fine to daven if you close the bathroom door. Now I understand that the walls should not be a problem since its built within a house, but shouldn’t the door perhaps be considered a mechitza of the bathroom exclusively, and therefore one should not say something holy opposite the door?

 

Answer:

The common custom is to be lenient with modern bathroom doors, see the sources below. Some are still stringent, or at least close their eyes, but this is not the accepted position.
