Flushing a Toilet with a Coloring Disinfectant on Shabbos

Question:

I’m staying at a family for Pesach and their toilet has a green soap inside the water tank so that every time I flush, the water turns out green.

What am I supposed to do?

I could theoretically find another toilet but it’s very difficult.

May I flush the toilet on Shabbos and yom tov?

Answer:

Although lechatchila one should not place such a soap in their toilet, if one is using a public bathroom or a guest at someone’s house they may flush the toilet even though it would color the water. If one wishes to be stringent, they can flush with a shinui.
