Cutting Extra Pieces of Challa for Others

 

Question:

What is the best procedure when cutting the challa for everyone?

Are you allowed to give challa to your wife before your first swallow? What about other family members? Or do you need to swallow first, then start cutting and giving?

 

Answer:

After biting your piece, you may start cutting the next pieces.

You may not talk, however, till you swallow.
