Alternatives for Marror

Due to travel closures I am currently stranded in Venezuela and as of now unable to return home for the seder. I need advice regarding Marror: so far, I cannot find either romaine lettuce or endives and horseradish is out of the question. I can only find iceberg and other similar lettuces. Can I say a bracha al achilas maror on iceberg lettuce?

 

Answer:

Yes. The custom us to use Romaine Lettuce, but Iceberg is also fine. Although it does not have any bitterness it is still acceptable.

You can also search to see if you can get chicory חרבינא or artemisia plant לענה. If none of these items are available, use any bit of vegetable but do not make a blessing. In this case you don’t need a kezayis
