Nigunim during the Three Weeks
Question:
I live right now in a dorm of Bachurim, and every night before lights out we play slow nigunim in my room, like R’ Menachem Amar etc. Can we continue during the 3 weeks?
Answer:
Please see here:
Is listening to Chabad Nigunim allowed during Sefira (with musical instruments)?
In your case, it should not be done, as the music in the background is very much noticeable.
Additionally, as explained in the link, “we are more strict regarding listening to music during the three weeks over Sefiras HaOmer“. Finally, nowadays B”H there are many Nigunim recordings available that do not have any instruments.
