Does a small storage room require a Mezuzah?

Question:

I rent the second floor of a house from a yid. Under the steps leading to the second floor (our living quarters) is a room/space with a proper doorway and door. It is part of our rental and used for bikes, carriages and other storage. The room is under 3 feet wide and about 5-6 feet long. Even a tall person can stand anywhere in the room. Should this room have a mezuzah? If yes, is a bracha recited? If it is potur, is there any inyan to still put it up?

Answer:

It is exempt from the obligation of mezuza. Some people, however, still are stringent to put one up. Naturally, they should be done without a bracha.
