Edible Food Projects on Shabbos

I run a Shabbos kids’ program. I’m wondering if I can play Twizzler Pictionary with the kids (making pictures out of Twizzler strands which will be eaten after)?

—No.

What about frosting cupcakes?

— Yes, as long as you don’t make a design.
