Are prenatal pills Kosher for Pesach?
Most contain Kitniyos. You can consult one of the Pesach medication lists to see if there are Kosher Lepesach certified (or approved) options that don’t contain Kitniyos.
In general, because the Pesach diet is rich in vegetables and other nutrient-dense foods, there may be less of a need for prenatal supplements during this week. Skipping them for a short time is usually not an issue.
However, if they are medically advised, they may – and should – be taken, provided they are swallowed and not chewed.
It’s preferable to opt for a Kosher Lepesach one that contains Kitniyos rather than one that isn’t Kosher for Pesach at all.
