If I borrow someone’s car low on gas, am I allowed to return it with a full gas tank, or is that Ribbis?
If you’re not giving back the exact amount as it was given to you, rather filling it up completely and there was no request for you to give him back a full tank, and you don’t specify verbally that you’re giving back a full tank in return for him lending you the gas, it is not a problem. It’s best to actually state that you’re giving back a full tank as a sign of appreciation for lending the car.
